Registration

1. Why do I need to register for Gloot ID when I play HKO?

Gloot.net is operated by Oriented Games, the exclusive publisher of Hello Kitty Online in Malaysia and Singapore. Like many other publishers, we collect visitor information in order to deliver targeted content that are likely to be of interest to you. The more information we have about your interests and preferences, the better we can make decisions as to what contents and services to provide.

Technically speaking, you can play HKO without registering a Gloot ID. However, you won't be able to enjoy the many benefits that are associated with registering with www.gloot.net:

  1. Chances to get free goodies, in-game items and great prizes from Gloot promotions and contests.
  2. Purchase of in-game items, which requires HKO Kitty Cash that can only be purchased from www.gloot.net through its Gloot Points system.
  3. Meet new friends and participate in the community forum.
  4. Keep yourself up-to-date with Gloot news and events as well as HKO in-game events and promotions.
  5. Enjoy direct customer support from our Gloot team for any technical and commercial problems with regards to the game.

2. How do I register?

Click Sign-Up link at the top of Gloot webpage. A blank registration form will be displayed to you. Fields marked with asterisks (*) are required information. They must be completed in order to register and we hope you'll complete the optional fields, too! Press "Register" upon completing the form. You will be asked to check your email for verification purposes. Login to your email that you specified in the form, simply click the link in the Gloot Verification email and your registration is now completed.

3. Do I have to pay to register for a Gloot account?

Registration for Gloot ID is absolutely free and open for all ages, genders and nationalities. You need to buy Gloot Points through our prepaid cards or soft pins, when you want to play HKO games. Please refer to Convert HKO Points for details.

4. Why do I need to give Gloot my identification number during registration?

A valid identification reference is required to prevent fraudulent and inappropriate activities in the event that your userid, password, prepaid card, in-game item or game character is lost, stolen or illegally used by other people. We have taken all the necessary steps to ensure that your personal information are secured, not accessible by unauthorized person and not used in an unlawful manner. 5. Can I update my personal information after registration?

Yes, you can update certain fields in your profile anytime after you have registered. Sign-in to www.gloot.net to edit certain information in your profile as well as upload, remove or change your photo.

6. I'm having trouble registering. What do I do?

If you're having trouble signing up, please review our Gloot Forum where your concerns may have already been clarified in an existing topic. Last but not least, email us and we will do our best to help.

7. When I try to register, I don't get the e-mail verification from Gloot, why?

This could be due to several reasons:

  • You are not logged in with the same e-mail address you've typed into the request form, so you don't receive the e-mail in your inbox.
  • You may have typed the e-mail address incorrectly in the form.
  • Your email service provider has a spam filter set up to block unsolicited e-mails. The e-mail address from which this is sent is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Some email service providers may mistake our e-mails as spam.
  • Additionally, check your inbox for any junk filter folders. Some mail applications have junk filter settings in place and direct suspect mail into a "junk mail" subfolder.

Game Client Download & DVD

1. Where and how can I download the HKO game client?

You can download the HKO game client under the Download section on www.gloot.net. You can choose to download the game client via one of these methods:

  • Download Manager
  • HTTP Direct Download
  • Torrent

Alternatively, you can also get the HKO DVD Starter Pack game client or purchase it from any of our Retailers in your area. But it'll be a lot easier if you can get a copy from your friend who has HKO game client installed.

2. I can't seem to be able download the game, the following error is displayed: "Error 404" or "Page not found"

This error can occur for any of the following reasons:

  • The download link you tried is currently unavailable.
  • A program installed in your computer - such as firewall or download manager - is interfering with the download process.
    • To resolve the error, please:
  • Please try another download link listed in Gloot Download page
  • Disable any download accelerators/managers, and make sure your firewall is not blocking the download attempts.

3. The game client download via Bittorrent is taking a very long time. It's still 0.0% even after a few hours of downloading. How do I know if it's downloading?

Download speed can vary due to a range of factors e.g. bandwidth of your Internet connection, time of the day, number of seeders and people downloading.

To ensure a smooth download, be sure to have the latest version of the torrent client installed. You can download and install uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com) or bitcomet (www.bitcomet.com). These torrent clients are free to download and safe from malware. The torrent client will allow for automatic resumption of the download process whenever you are connected to the Internet.

Please check your internet connection to ensure that it is working. It would also help if you temporarily stop other download activities.

4. The game client that I downloaded via Bittorrent cannot be opened, it displays a message "the program cannot open file", why?

There are several things you can check:

  • Please make sure that the torrent download process is 100% completed
  • You need to extract the HKO game client torrent file using a file compression utility for e.g. WinZip.

5. I have a HKO game client installed from the DVD, why does it say that I need to auto-update again?

Autoupdate is a process of adding new features and functions to the game client program that is installed in your computer. We are continously developing HKO new features and when ready, they are deployed to your game client automatically when you start-up so that you can always play and enjoy the latest features of the game.

6. How do I extract a compressed .zip game client file?

You need to extract the HKO game client using a file compression utility for e.g. WinZip.

Both Windows Vista and Windows XP come with built-in compression utility that can help extract the game client. You can download a free evaluation copy of WinZip from www.winzip.com.

7. I cannot find the game client that I have dowlnoaded to my computer, why?

When you have successsfully downloaded the game client, please be aware of the location of all downloaded files. The default download folder differs depending on your OS, internet browser, download manager/accelarator, torrent for e.g

  • Vista: My Computer=> C:\Users\<Your username>\Downloads
  • XP: My Document=>C:\Document and Settings\<Your username>\Downloads

Torrent program creates its own download folder.

Activation

1. What does "Game Activation" mean?

You need to have a SanrioTown ID to login and play HKO game Malaysia and Singapore server. "Game Activation" simply means creating your personalized HKO SanrioTown ID, username with "@hellokittyonline.com.my" or "@hellokittyonline.com.sg" domain. In addition to that, you can also choose an ID with "@mymelody.com.my" and "@mymelody.com.sg" domains.

Activation can only be done through Gloot.net and you can have up to 4 HKO accounts linked to every Gloot ID.

2. Why do need and Sanriotown ID?

HKO is integrated with many of SanrioTown's website social features and products including SanrioTown email, blogs, flash games, video sharing, mini games, e-cards and of course Hello Kitty Online. With your Sanriotown ID, you can enjoy a wide range of social network services available in SanrioTown website to gain free SanrioTown loyalty points that can be used to buy HKO in-game items.

3. Can I can use my hellokitty.com or kurirnmail.com to play HKO Malaysia and Singapore server?

No, you can't. If you have an existing SanrioTown ID without the ".my" or ".sg" prefix, you must create a new SanrioTown ID through Gloot.net. You can only choose your new SanrioTown ID with "hellokittyonline.com.my" or "hellokittyonline.com.sg" or "mymelody.com.my" or "mymelody.com.sg" domain. The loyalty points in your old SanrioTown account are not transferrable to the new account.

4. I have created a hellokittyonline.com.sg through another website, do I need to create a new SanrioTown account to play HKO SEA?

If you have created a SanrioTown ID from another domain other than Gloot, please to register a Gloot account at www.gloot.net and link this account to your SanrioTown ID. With a Gloot ID you can buy HKO in-game items using Gloot prepaid cards and/or Gloot softpins.

5. Can points from a SanrioTown US account be used in HKO SEA game?

No, unfortunately, SanrioTown do not allow loyalty points from one territory to be used in HKO game of another territory. Furthermore, you cannot transfer loyalty points between your SanrioTown accounts even if the accounts are in the same domain.

Top-up Gloot Points

1. What are Gloot points for?

Gloot Points provides players a mean to purchase HKO Cash Points or kitty coins, the in-game currency of the HKO world. In the near future, Gloot Points can be used to convert to other games points

2. Where can I purchase Gloot points from?

You can purchase Gloot Points through either prepaid top-up cards or online soft pins that can be purchased at our distributors' retail outlets while online soft pins can be purchased online at www.offgamers.com

3. How do I top up my Gloot points?

Both prepaid cards and the online soft pins come with a 12-digit serial number and a 16-digit PIN number. Login into Gloot and go to your profile page, click on "Gloot Top Up" to access the Top-Up Centre. There, simply fill in the fields with your serial number and PIN number. Your Gloot account will be automatically updated upon completing the process.

4. Is my Gloot Points only valid for Hello Kitty Online?

At present, Gloot Points can only be used with Hello Kitty Online. However, Gloot Points can be subsequently used to purchase in-game currency for new games when they become available.

Convert HKO Points

1. What does "Convert Game Points" mean and how do I convert my Gloot points to HKO Cash Points?

Convert Game Points simply means you buy or allocate a specific amount of Gloot Points into your SanrioTown account HKO Cash Points or kitty coins, the in-game currency of the HKO world. These points will then be converted into the relative amount of HKO Cash Points on 1 to 1 conversion rate. With the HKO Cash Points, you can start shopping in the item malls.

2. Can I transfer my HKO Cash Points to my friends or my other SanrioTown accounts?

No, HKO Cash Points are non-transferrable.

3. Can I convert my HKO Cash points back to Gloot points

Conversion of Gloot points into HKO Cash Points is permanent. Players will not able to convert back their HKO Cash Points for Gloot Points.

4. How do I ensure that the points are converted to my SanrioTown account and not other people's accounts?

It is important that you link all your SanrioTown IDs to your Gloot account. In the Convert Game Points page, you can only see those SanrioTown accounts that are linked to you Gloot account. You can choose which of these accounts you want to allocate the HKO Cash Points with a maximum of 4 SanrioTown IDs to one Gloot account. So, there is no way that you could accidently allocate into other people's accounts.
